This summer, Flamingo Cantina is thrilled to welcome back Grimy Styles as they throw down the very best in all instrumental dub reggae – these are some of our favorite shows. In a departure from the traditional reggae songwriting intrinsic to Jamaican Dub, Grimy Styles draws inspiration from many artists spanning from Pink Floyd to Slayer and Astor Piazzola to U2. Classically inspired melodica and guitar drive melodies while drum and bass point back to the fundamental rhythm of King Tubby and Lee Scratch Perry.

They’ll be joined by Superfónicos a Colombian Funk band. Better yet, a Caríbe Soul band…fed by the Indigenous and African roots of the band’s Colombian heritage, telegraphing a politics of peace and unity from the stage to your ears. They only ask that you dance toward a place in your mind beyond struggle and strife.
