Each night they will perform one of their albums in it’s entirety.\nThese will be their only shows in Texas on this tour. \nFriday\, December 8th: WASTED DAYS\nSaturday\, December 9th: PECULIAR\nSunday\, December 10th: RED LIGHT \nRed Light Released in 1997\, Red Light was the first album that the Slackers released on Hellcat records. It was also the first album that the band toured the entire United States and Europe behind. The album featured a moody introspective take on Ska & Reggae in contrast to pretty much all the other ‘Ska’ bands of the time. A lot of tunes off this album like “Watch This”\, “Married Girl”\, “I Still Love You”\, and “Soldier” are considered to be classics by the band. In honor of its 20th anniversary\, the band has released a collectors edition 180 gram vinyl version of Red Light on Pirate’s Press Records.

The centerpiece of the album is the title track\, ‘Wasted Days’\, a creeping reggae tune that became the Slackers most popular tune to date.  Some of the other popular tracks are ‘This Is The Night’\, ‘Dave’s Friend’\, ‘and ‘The Nurse.’\n

Festivities are hosted by Sertified with doors opening at 8 PM and music starting at 8:30. Hip Hop lives and thrives in the ATX. \n——————- \nCollege of Hip Hop Knowledge is a consortium of artists with the goal of curating quality shows in Austin fostering the principles of community\, unity\, and opportunity.  We never charge artists a fee to perform in slots and rather try to inject money into the scene rather than draw from it.  CHHK is more than a production and promotion company it’s a movement for the community in general.  It’s 2 founding members are Michael Pereida ( Big Mic ) and Jason Anderson-Ebener ( Jsun the Prophesor )

As leader of the legendary trio(The Meditations) Ansel and his fellow band members performed at the historical ONE LOVE PEACE CONCERT\, held April\, 22nd 1978\, at the request of Bob Marley. Legends like Jimmy Cliff\, Sly and Robbie\, Philip Smart\, Willie Lindo and Gregory Isaac are a few of the people that Ansel has worked with. These contributions have sculpted the sound of Roots Rock Reggae over the years. Making The Meditations a fundamental and essential part of reggae music. \nOver the past few years Ansel (who has produced all of The Meditations’ albums excluding three) have been the only remaining original member of The Meditations to continue touring. Accompanying him for almost 10 years\, as background vocalist are Laury Webb(who is also featured on The Good Of Man album) and DaddyLion Chandell. Together\, they’ve been touring the United States performing for massive crowds at venues like the Red Rock Amphitheater twice in seven years.  \nCriss crossing the United States year after year\, embarking on journeys over waters to Africa in an attempt to quench the thirst for Meditations Music. On January 29\, 2010 Ansel performed for exhilarated fans at The Parker Place(in Abidjan\, Ivory Coast)\, which due to the demand\, resulted in being two events instead of one. This amazing experience produced a great live album\, titled Ansel Meditations Live In Africa. This album is of legendary proportions to say the least. Its Roots Reggae at its finest. Its raw and filled with uncut material\, capturing a monumental moment in time.  \nOpening the show is legendary Jamaican singer and songwriter\, performer Clinton Fearon. He and his long time guitarist Mark Oi will be performing an acoustic set.\nHe was born in Jamaica and become the bassist\, vocalist and lyricist for the mythic Gladiators\, as well as a session musician for Coxsonne Dodd in Studio One and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s at Black Ark\, two of the main producers on the island at this time. He also composed some everlasting bass lines for well-known artists like Yabby You\, Jimmy Riley\, Max Romeo\, Junior Byles and many others. \nAfter leaving Jamaica 1987\, Clinton Fearon start a new career from Seattle. With other musicians of the Gladiators\, he decided to stay in the US and to found The Defenders. The band built a nice following in the Northwest. After five years the band split and Clinton Fearon formed the Boogie Brown Band with local musicians in 1993.\nClinton Fearon recorded eight albums with Boogie Brown Band and two albums in solo acoustic. \nEach song of Clinton Fearon is a strong message coming from the heart of a man who dedicates his life to help a better world to come. With chiselled music and poetic lyrics\, he opens reggae to a wider audience who simply loves his beautiful songs.\nAcoustic \n“Many of my songs started just like that\, with me and mi guitar…”. Since 2005 and the release of Mi An Mi Guitar\, Clinton Fearon is giving magical solo performances in acoustic. With just vocal and guitar\, Clinton is playing his music all over the world\, in the United States\, in France and Europe but also Brazil\, Kenya\, Peru and various other locales. \n” My music is roots reggae from the island of Jamaica. I grew up deep in the hills\, up in St. Catherine\, surrounded by nature\, beauty and hard work. Even as a child\, I knew I wanted to be a musician and began my career singing in church and at school\, and eventually built my own guitar! As a teenager\, my journeys took me to Kingston where I met many musicians and began writing and recording music. The Skatalites\, Motown artists and Jamaican musicians who came before me all influenced my music. \nI write from my heart. The world is full of inspirations… nature\, people\, politics\, love. I write about them all. My music is good for the soul – always with a message of hope and betterment for tomorrow.
