As usual\, we decided to rise to the challenge & created a new platform for artists of all genres to come showcase their talents\, hone their craft\, & most importantly receive honest feedback on what each artist did well & areas of opportunity to grow. \n\n\n\nThis will be an open mic event & will be hosted by Casinoatx & Evita with AbstractAMCR & DJ-Berlin holding down the tables. \n\n\n\nThere will be featured guest performances by \n\n\n\nCooley Fly00SlevinDaya Dai \n\n\n\nWe will have guest panelists giving feedback to the open mic artists. We will be keeping track of the top performers & the artists that show the most growth between September-February. Top performers will have their names entered into a lottery in March to win prizes such as free studio time/project collaboration at The Academy Recording Studio\, music registration through a PRO\, music distribution through Roc Nation\, performance slots on our showcases Fresh Fridaze\, The SAT’s & The Dean’s List including our official & unofficial SXSW showcases in March of 2025\, guest feature on a CHHK Collab record\, plus much much more! \n\n\n\nThis is the inaugural show happening on Tuesday\, September 17th. Drawing inspiration from Sublime\, Katchafire\, 10 Ft Ganja Plant\, John Brown’s Body\, Peter Tosh\, Bob Marley\, Culture\, The Movement and so many more. ZeeCeeKeely is the new breed in American Reggae bringing a sound all their own and being the trailblazers of American Reggae while always honoring the past influences that paved the Road for us to be here. We give respect to those who’ve paved the way for us to actually be here playing the beautiful sound of reggae today. We Blend Roots Rock Reggae Dub in a way that’s all our own and shaping the sound of tomorrow\, while always honoring the past. Today the band consists of founding member\, lead vocalist and guitarist Zachary Keely\, bassist Eduardo Gutierrez\, drummer Khalil Young\, Percussionist and Vocalist Mike “Mikey Shades” Clark and Saxophone Trey Bryant. Their second studio album “From Dark To Light” releases in late 2023/ early 2024 and it’s one of our most complete album to date. Fightahs and Unitahs (2021) debuted at #4 in the Billboard Reggae Chart. \n\n\n\nThe only path is forward for ZeeCeeKeely; pushing the boundaries and the future of reggae we will spread the message of the music now and as long as we’re able to take another breath on this beautiful planet ☝️❤️ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick for “Dog Beach Rebels” Bio\nImagine you just hopped in the van to hit the beach\, or the springs\, and are jonesin’ for some reggae psychedelic jam rock. DBR is music for the way there. \n\n\n\nDog Beach Rebels takes a unique approach to ska punk and reggae fusion while staying true to the formulas set by predecessors like Sublime\, 311\, and Rebelution. You’ll work up your pulse to sweltering bass lines and booty-shakin’ percussion that hearkens back to Meters while also dropping hints of modern west coast reggae with an Austin vibe. Their signature blend of ‘70s funk balanced out with DIY punk mentality\, minimalist roots reggae\, Peter Tosh-esque social commentary\, and even some brushes of 90’s hip-hop breeds a pack of infectious tunes. \n\n\n\nAustin five-piece Dog Beach Rebels joined up in 2018\, brought together over a mutual love of reggae. Drummer Charlie Fountain laid the foundation for DBR after finding guitarist-vocalist Tyler Rusin through Reddit\, and sparks flew right away with their initial jam sessions. \n\n\n\nRusin then recruited guitarist Milton Hein\, whom he’d worked with previously in various projects\, and Milt’s vocal prowess allowed Rusin to share vocal duties on lead and harmony. They found bassist Brice sitting in at local club Flamingo Cantina’s jam night. This rounded out the band with Brice’s tasty bass playing\, Charlie’s funky New Orleans drumming\, Tyler’s skanky guitar and worldly lyrics\, and Milt’s psychedelic\, aquatic aesthetic. The band recently brought in Fitz for some keys flavor and backup vocals as well. Thanks to an amazingly supportive friend group Dog Beach Rebels shows were a hit right from the start. \n\n\n\nThe band made a splash in October 2020 with their debut EP Take Sides\, garnering a feature as KUTX song of the day. They quickly returned to the studio\, and released two singles; Lawman’s Daughter and Numbers\, which have generated more and more local radio play. A live recording through the sound system of One2One bar preceded a 5 month weekly residency that gave fans a true taste of the band’s evolving 2021 sound. \n\n\n\nDog Beach Rebels have stayed busy through these tumultuous times\, writing new material and continuing to play shows and build a fanbase around Central Texas. \n\n\n\nNovember 2022 saw the release of DBR’s latest efforts in new music\, with the release of an EP “Just Enough” we had many events to celebrate the moment with a video release on Fox Morning show\, song of the day on KUTX\, an announcement in the Austin Chronicle and a music release show at the Flamingo Cantina on November 11th. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick for “Capistrano” Bio\nFormed in 2018\, with roots in New Mexico\, South Korea\, and Texas\, Capistrano now calls San Antonio\, Texas their home. Drawing inspiration from roots reggae\, 70s soul & funk\, progressive rock\, and jazz\, Capistrano pushes the boundaries of what defines reggae while always bringing it home to that rub-a-dub roots pulse. Founded by brothers and lifelong musicians Aaron and Alex Cooper\, and with the recent addition of Bradley Brock and Pat G\, Capistrano is now a powerhouse of creative energy from all angles of the music ethos. Whether you’re spending the evening on the dance floor\, or just relaxing with your friends and soaking in the harmonic and rhythmic fun\, Capistrano brings the right vibes for every occasion. \n\n\n\nAs one of 6 bands on local label\, Expect Delays Records\, Capistrano has shared the stage with prolific acts such as Lion Heights\, Chris Boomer\, Phil Lerma\, Skyler Lutes\, So/Below\, Prezence\, and San Antonio heavy-hitters Saltwater Slide. Capistrano has performed across Texas\, from dive bars and coffee shops to venues like House of Rock in Corpus Christi\, Flamingo Cantina in Austin\, Sam’s Burger Joint in San Antonio\, and Scout Bar in Houston. You can catch the boys playing disc golf with many other members of the Expect Delays family\, fishing at local creeks\, biking\, and hanging with their beloved dogs (and cats.) Capistrano is currently working on their debut LP\, due late 2021\, at RTE Studios in San Antonio\, but you can listen to their currently released material on every major streaming platform. My love for music started from the very tender age of 8 when I would actively participate in all the singing activities at church. However\, my passion for music blossomed when I entered my teenage years. \n\n\n\nAt the age of 15 while attending the St Andrew technical high school I decided to join the school choir. As I participated in various rehearsals and live performances I quickly realized that music was my life goal. I felt a passion within me each time I sang\, I did not just want to voice the words of a song but I wanted my music to speak to my audience. \n\n\n\nFrom early on in my music career I purposed myself to sing clean\, positive lyrics as such music help to keep one focused and give you a positive energy. Music is like a gateway to my happiness and without it I don’t think I could function properly. I want to learn more about this music industry\, I want to learn how to play some instruments So far I have a little knowledge in playing the piano\, but I am taking it one step at a time as I appreciate the music and my audience as I am guided by the words of Bob Marley “When the root is strong\, the fruit is sweet.” \n\n\n\nI met Phillip at a high school band Competition and this ended up being an inspiring experience. Upon venturing out to pursue my musical goals Philip advised me to complete my education before doing music full time. Having complete my education I had a chance to record my first song “Love never Lost”. Because of my single “Love never Lost” I started performing at various events . \n\n\n\nThis knowledge and experience that I have gathered have open up new doors and certainly have help me compose my next song title “Life” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick for “Dalwayne” bio\nDalwayne was born and raised in the hills of George Town\, Western St.Mary\, Jamaica. Growing up around the sound systems in the community\, he developed a love and art for writing and performing songs. While in high school\, he participated in song clash competitions with other aspiring artists and was known to be a lethal lyricist. \n\n\n\nAfter high school\, Dalwayne was introduced to upcoming producer Phillip McFarlane who is from the southern part of the community. Phillip is the current owner of Irie Yute Records. They have been working together since then\, recording dozens of song. Unfortunately \, they did not get to release a song official until last year. Now they are on a journey of understanding the business and artist development\, and is now set to release non stop music and content. Dalwayne is reggae with a sing jay style who choose to use his music to uplift and highlight the reality of the society we live in.

Black Roses delivers a unique blend of upbeat reggae originals and creatively styled covers. \n\n\n\nMary’s professional musical career began in 2011. Inspired by reggae music\, she picked up her first bass in 2012 and immediately fell in love. By 2013\, she was growing as a bassist and vocalist in a supportive community in SW Colorado\, exploring various music styles. \n\n\n\nCesar grew up in Colombia\, immersed in the rhythms and roots of his native culture. He was drawn to the bass guitar and traveled the world performing with reggae and Latin-based bands. He settled in Austin in 2016\, becoming a valued member of the Austin music community. \n\n\n\nMary and Cesar met in Austin in 2022\, bonding over their shared love of reggae\, traveling\, and life’s curiosities. Through 2023-2024\, they’ve collaborated with bands\, recorded music together\, hosted a community reggae jam\, and recently began performing as Black Roses. They believe strongly in reggae music’s power to unify and heal\, promoting freedom and peace through self-love\, understanding\, and empowerment.

He grew up in the former Soviet Union\, where folk music was the norm and rock’n’roll was illegal. A rebellious streak\, led him to seek out the forbidden music. As soon as it became possible\, Igor left Russia for America with his “Folk’n’Roll” band Limpopo\, and was personally greeted by Ronald Reagan. In 1993\, Limpopo won Ed McMahon’s Star Search and their popularity began to blossom. In 1995\, Igor dreamed that Elvis Presley came to him and told him to start playing rock’n’roll. Igor and his Russian friends became Red Elvises and gave street performances on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade. As their crowds grew larger\, the City of Santa Monica ordered them to discontinue their street performances. Evolving over the years\, Igor’s music has been labeled “Siberian Surf Rock” which contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance. Over the past 20 years\, Red Elvises have constantly toured all over the world with occasional breaks to record new music and to participate in film and television projects. \n\n\n\nAs an independent band\, Red Elvises have produced 12 studio albums\, two live albums\, a live concert DVD\, and a Greatest Hits compilation. Some of their most notable film contributions include music and or performances in “Six String Samurai”\, “Mail Order Bride”\, “Armageddon”\, “Skippy”\, “Melrose Place”\, “Fastlane”\, “Penn and Teller’s Sin City Extravaganza”\, “VH-1 Behind the Music”\, and “MTV”. Red Elvises have performed for large festivals\, private parties\, and played on massive stages such as 2005’s Live 8 Benefit Concert. No matter where they perform\, Igor & Red Elvises always bring the party with them.
