DESCRIPTION:JOIN & SHARE THE FB EVENT HERE \n9-10:30 Stary Olsa (all the way from Belarus in Eastern Europe!)\n11-12:30 Wine & Alchemy (Houston) \n*STARY OLSA is a medieval Belarusian music band with a repertoire including Belarusian folk balladry and martial songs\, national dances\, works of Belarusian Renaissance composers\, compositions from aulic music collections\, Belarusian canticles of the 16th – early 17th centuries\, as well as European popular melodies of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. (STARY OLSA also plays rock music on medieval instruments — eg. the Beatles\, Metalica\, the Red Hot Chili Peppers\, et cetera.) STARY OLSA uses for its performances maximal exact (in appearance\, technology and materials) copies of old aged Belarusian instruments such as Belarusian bagpipe\, lyre\, gusli (Baltic psaltery) \, svirel (reed pipe)\, jew’s-harp\, ocarina\, Belarusian trumpet\, birch bark trumpet\, hudok (Belarusian rebec)\, tromba marina and drums. The purpose is to completely reconstruct (whenever possible) musical traditions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania where Belarus was the main cultural and geopolitical part in the 13th – 18th centuries\, and where there was a unique combination of Belarusian folk and aulic music with European musical achievements of that time.  \n*Wine and Alchemy is a unique world music band\, performing a fusion of original and traditional music derived from a wide variety of times and cultures including: Greek\, Gypsy\, Celtic\, Medieval European\, French\, Sephardic\, Turkish\, Classic Rock and others. In addition to vocals in a myriad of languages\, violin\, accordion\, and guitar\, the band features a variety of exotic instruments including hurdy gurdy\, turkish saz or greek bouzouki\, harmonium\, viola da gamba\, tupan and a hand drum kit comprised of doubek\, djembe\, kick tupan\, and cymbals. The live show includes a unique World Fusion Belly Dance performance featuring veil spinning and sword balancing.

SUMMARY:The Bandulus\, Steady 45\, River City All-Stars
DESCRIPTION:The Bandulus are the brainchild of Jeremy Peña\, formerly of Los Skarnales and The Trenchtown Texans. After the 2006 break-up of Los Skarnales and leaving Trenchtown Texans in 2010\, Jeremy decided to venture out on his own and create the traditional ska\, reggae\, and soul sensation that is The Bandulus. Their first full length album\, Ska.Reggae.Soul\, was released in 2010 featuring a smattering of well respected musicians such as Vic Ruggiero of Slackers’ fame and Willy Camero\, Patrick Kelly\, and Jonny Meyers of The Stingers ATX. After the release\, Jeremy solidified his live band with musicians from the Austin and San Antonio scenes.  \nIn November of 2012\, The Bandulus released their second full length album called The Times We Had. The record was worth the wait and well received\, featured on countless top 10 lists for ska and reggae records. Its unique with its heavy soul influence and heartfelt lyrics but still keeps you dancing in true Bandulus fashion. While staying genuine to the 60’s style traditional ska\, The Times We Had crosses and mixes genres\, keeping on your toes. \nThe Bandulus have already shared the stage with yesterdays and todays top ska and reggae acts including the originators of ska The Skatalites\, The Wailers\, The Slackers\, Easy Star All Stars\, The Aggrolites\, and even Grammy award winners Los Lonely Boys.

These guys produce “iriginal” roots reggae with five part harmonies backed by 150 man-years of stage experience. The Mau Mau Chaplains include veteran musicians from the 80’s reggae group The Lotions\, as well as country/reggae phenomenon “I-Tex”\, the Killer Bees\, Pressure amongst others. Their Texas roots country alter-ego is the band\, “Stop the Truck”.
