DESCRIPTION:Aquifer:\nTulsa native Heath Ham brings Aquifer a unique background that involves touring across the US with country bands\, performing in jazz clubs\, and professionally producing reggae and red dirt music. Through it all\, his true passion has been for writing ska/reggae music. Heath’s diverse experience and unique upbringing in mid-America gives a true roots Americana vibe to his song writing. \nJohn Jones picked up the guitar during college in Fort Myers\, FL. He’s been both a front man guitarist/singer and a bassist for bands leading up to joining Aquifer. John’s Motown roots in his early bass playing days have paved the way for his eclectic dub bass lines that drive the sound of the band. \nDanny grew up playing blues in his home state of Arkansas. After taking a hiatus from music through college\, he found his way to Austin. Following a brief stint in a country project that involved Heath Ham\, Danny invited John to play with him and Heath\, and the three were able to find a common ground in the reggae genre.

DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS HERE\nThe Aggrolites + special guests Los Kurados & Kung Fu Sound System! \n \nThe Aggrolites are an amalgamation of two previous Los Angeles reggae and ska bands\, the Vessels and the Rhythm Doctors. They formed in 2002 as a live backing band for reggae icon Derrick Morgan\, and were asked to record music for a new Morgan album. The project was never released\, but the recording sessions inspired the Aggrolites to become a permanent band. They have served as the backing band for Phyllis Dillon\, Scotty\, Joseph Hill of Culture\, Prince Buster\, and Tim Armstrong. \nRegarding their musical style\, Aggrolites organist Roger Rivas has stated that a combination of the sounds of 1960s soul music\, funk\, and reggae constitutes what the band has dubbed “Dirty Reggae.” \nIn 2003\, the Aggrolites released their debut album\, Dirty Reggae\, on local reggae label Axe Records. The album was recorded at Signet Studios in Los Angeles in one day\, with each song recorded in one take\, and with many lyrics improvised on the spot. In November 2004\, the Aggrolites were featured on Hellcat Records compilation Give ‘Em the Boot IV\, and were officially signed to Hellcat in October 2005. The Aggrolites’ self-titled Hellcat debut was released on May 9\, 2006. In December 2006 they toured the UK as the support band for Madness. The Aggrolites finished a collaboration with Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong for his new solo album\, A Poet’s Life. DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS HERE\nJoin the FB event here! \nDoors @ 8pm\, Ages 21+ Welcome.\nMaoli – Hawaii’s Internationally known Roots Reggae band returns to Flamingo Cantina 2/27/20! \n \n\n\n\n\nMaoli (meaning “Native” in Hawaiian) started in Maui with Glenn Awong\, a 14-year-old with a passion for music\, and Kana Akiu-Corpuz. In their sophomore year\, the aspiring vocalist and bassist began writing original music at the encouragement of their high school teacher. It was also during this time that Glenn started recording demos of his songs. By the time he reached his senior year\, Glenn was ready to share his music with a greater audience. \nIn 2005\, Glenn his band\, “No Boundaries”\, won a Battle of the Bands competition on the island of Maui. With numerous performances under his belt\, Glenn then formed Maoli in 2007 with a new lineup of talented musicians\, including bassist\, Kana. \nMaoli took the islands by storm in 2008 with their debut album entitled\, “Groovin\,” having one hit after the next. This was the groundbreaking album that first established the group as a premiere Hawaiian Island Reggae recording band. \nIn 2010\, Maoli did it again with their 2nd release\, “Rock Easy”\, featuring another treasure trove of #1 hits. Their 3rd album entitled “Arise” took to a national and international audience exploring Maoli’s love for various genres of music. Maoli’s road to success continued as they toured the islands and started promoting their very own unique Island sound with the world\, starting with a small tour to Australia\, their first international show. \nSince then\, the boys from Maoli started focusing more on sharing their music and passion with a bigger audience. Maoli had the pleasure to share with fans from the east to the west of the United States and an international crowd\, including Guam and Australia\, growing with fans with each show. Their music went on to play in parts of Europe\, such as Germany\, Italy and Scotland\, Japan and others. \nMaoli stayed busy with fan favorite releases such as “Rock Me Sober\,” “Sweet Remedy\,” and “Sweetest Sound\,” original songs penned by the band’s founder and leader\, Glenn Awong\, as new musical and life influences continue to inspire his writing.

DESCRIPTION:The Skatastrophics Austin Album Release Show!!!\nFeaturing special guests:\nLos Kurados\nThe Skajects\nShame On Me \nThe Skatastrophics are an amalgamation of two Houston ska/punk bands \, Always Guilty and Fuska\, formed in 2014 when members of both bands wanted to start playing ska and reggae\, in more of a traditional form. The band wanted more of a feel good easy going vibe\, compared to past projects which were more mosh pit/skank pit friendly. Originally meant to be a side project\, it quickly garnered a local fan base that wanted to see more of the Skatastrophics unique style; ska/reggae/rocksteady base combined with soul and tex mex. \nIn 2015 The Skatastrophics released their first self-titled album\, and now on February 15th 2020 are slated to release their second album\, “Symptoms of the Atmosphere.” The album was recorded in Houston at King Benny Studios by Jacob Rodriguez and mastered in Riverside\, CA by Eddie Casillas\, a member of Voodoo Glow Skulls. \nThe band has shared the stage with the likes of Lee Scratch Perry\, The Skatalites\, The English Beat\, The Slackers \,The Aggrolites\, Sister Nancy\, Symarip\, Voodoo Glow Skulls\, and Mephiskapheles\, to name a few.\nThe bands current line up consists of Billy Munoz-lead vocals/bari sax \, Jacob Garcia-keys/background vocals \, Zach Motes-guitar/background vocals \, Daniel Lopez-trombone/background vocals \, Julio Bonilla-drums\, Nick Pastor-bass\, Manny Diaz-tenor Sax \, and Juan Torres-congas.
