Sunami Force is a reggae band performing conscious roots reggae, vintage dancehall, and oriJAHnal cosmic music featuring DON RASTA Rseenal from Kingston, Jamaica and Filipina bassist, susieflyhigh, on bass and vocals. They say, “Catch the wave of positive energy and higher consciousness through sweet reggae music in…SUNAMI FORCE”
Sunami Force enjoys their global reach and has performed in Negril, Jamaica, Panama City, Panama, Houston, Texas and are excited to be making their debut in Austin, Texas at the legendary Flamingo Cantina. Their Austin session will feature Austin’s own musician, recording engineer, producer, selector, visionary of Music For Life record label, and host of KAZI 88.7 FM’s Reggae Evolution, DJRJ, on drums and Nathaniel Ballinger of Afro-rock band, System Positif, on keys.
Sunami Force will perform an evening roots and vintage reggae classics along with DON RASTA Rseenal’s oriJAHnal songs featuring hits from his latest EP “DON RASTA: Divinely Operating Negus , Realizing Appropriate Solutions Through Awareness” due to be released everywhere on Aug. 6.

Through Awareness.
With his unique multi-faceted style Rseenal Di Artillary aka DonRasta is the future voice
of a “New Generation of Reggae Music ”. Growing up in the politically charged Allman
Town, Kingston, Jamaica. Rseenal developed a love for the art of poetry which he used
to express his daily experiences of growing up in such harsh surroundings. Since then,
he has fine-tuned his lyricism to the point of excellence which he currently maintains.
Rseenal’s most notable and widely distributed album “Aluta Continua X Vitória é Certa”
E.P, Executive produced by Makonnen Blake-Hanna, Multicast entertainment.
Rseenal’s current artillery of releases for this project included hit singles “Ready Fi Tek
It”, “Lyrical World Order”, “Hush Mama” featuring International songstress Trinkie Starr,
“No Worry” and “Don Rasta” all featured in-house productions from Orange Hill and
Multicast Entertainment. The E.P. was focused on conveying “conscious’ relevant
messages, driven heavily on roots, rock, and reggae influenced rhythms with a fusion
of dancehall and hip-hop. Other releases were by Natural High Music on “Real Talk”
Featuring Makonnen & “Keep Going” Featuring Lady Impress also local underground
hit “Definition” featuring Iyah Gift, produced by Smano and the Compac Sound family
all available on all digital media platforms.
Rseenal has a vast resume consisting of various live performances at some of
Jamaica’s biggest dancehall, Reggae shows such as Sting, Fullyloaded, Spectrum,
Pepsi Teen Splash, Portland Curry Festival and Capleton’s St. Mary Mi Come From.
This also includes several international shows in Amsterdam, UK and quite recently
Colombia, at the Manizales Grita Rockfest which saw over 14,000 patrons and
presently in the USA, Houston, Texas with his electrifying Reggae band The Sunami
Force. Rseenal’s musical career climbed to new heights when bestowed upon him, the
title of Reigning Champion on RE TV’s Face-Off: Battle of the Lyricist. He was also
acclaimed winner of the Heinekens “Top Star” Competition that took him to Amsterdam.
Now based in Houston and performing to more diverse audiences as lead vocalist with
his dynamic reggae band, SUNAMI FORCE, they have rapidly emerged as one of
Houston’s finest. They have graced the stage of many major venues and events such
as Rice University Moody Center for the Arts, Houston Jerk Fest in Buffalo Bayou Park,
Houston Reggae Jam Jam, Roots, Rhythm, World Festival @ Shrine of the Black
Madonna Cultural Center, Dub Sessionz series, Reggae Thursdays at Five Central,
and University of Houston’s Downtown Concert Series curated by Wonky Power
Records at Discovery Green Park.
Rseenal’s musical career started with humble beginnings. His first professional step
into the music industry was live dub poetry performances with Dub Traffickers. He then
evolved into a deejay doing his first professional recording with Multi- Cast
Entertainment. Multi-Cast Entertainment collaborated with Mansion Muzik to release
Rseenal’s first self titled official E.P. The “DonRasta” then collaborated with R.E.A.L.
ITY Inc, released local Hit songs and debut music videos, “So or So” produced by Illicit
Productions then “Duh Soh”, which soared to top 10 music video on local television and
cable stations. He also partnered with the Gambling House Studios where he released
The Hoztyle CrossOva Mixtape and Music Video “Whine Up Pon It”.
DonRasta Rseenal’s eclectic musical influences range from the Notorious Big and
Tupac to Peter Tosh and Sizzla Kalonji who remains his single greatest musical
influence.
In the words of Rseenal: “Differently still, we’re not here to change anything, no new
image or anything like that, we are here to continue the works of the legends before
us… We are here to be like them legends of our time… We are here to make great
music”…
