La Santa Cecilia , Grammy Award Winning Latin Alternative Band to appear live in concert, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Flamingo Cantina, 515 E. Sixth Street in Austin, Texas.

La Santa Cecilia exemplifies the modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music. The group draws inspiration from all over the world, utilizing Pan-American rhythms like cumbia, bossa nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz, rock and clezmer music. Their unique sound and the experience of their colorful, passionate performance leaves fans and new listeners mesmerized. They are proud to be from the City of Angels.

Besides their modern day take on traditional Mexican musical styles, the group is known for their activism with immigration reform. Their music has been featured in the TV show “Weeds” and
“the Bridge”.

Local Selena Tribute band “Bidi Bidi Banda” alongside DJ Vanessa La Bestia open the show.
